A DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) is a round disc that can store and play movies and music. It was a very popular storage medium from the 1990s to the 2000s.

While streaming services like Netflix are widely used these days, DVDs are still cherished as items holding special memories.

DVDs, with their larger storage capacity and better picture quality than CDs, once completely dominated the home video market. In Korea, especially in the early 2000s, DVD rooms (DVD bangs) were hugely popular as dating spots for young people.

Although now largely replaced by Blu-ray and digital streaming, there are still enthusiasts who collect DVDs. The making-of videos and director's commentaries included in special edition DVDs still hold special value for movie fans.
